We only use Beauty Works hair and do all methods of hair extension, Tape, Nano bonds, Weft, and new to Beaity Works Express Weft
Hair extensions are the perfect solution if you want to add length and volume to your hair. Although hair extensions can be on the pricier side, they are definitely worth it!
Extensions require more love and care than your natural hair. This is due to the chemical process the hair goes through when being made into extensions and the fact that extension hair doesn’t have a blood supply running to it.
Following the correct aftercare makes a big difference to the longevity, condition, and colour of your hair extensions!.
Brush Your Extensions Regularly
Brushing your hair extensions regularly is important to prevent tangles and matting. You should use a soft-bristled brush or a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle your extensions, starting at the ends and working your way up.
Avoid pulling or tugging on the extensions, as this can cause damage. Not to mention enjoying that moment brushing your hair and feeling like a princess ❤️
Wash Your Extensions With Care
It’s important to wash your hair extensions regularly to keep them clean and free of dirt and oil – about once or twice a week. We recommend the Beauty Works Sulphate Free shampoo and conditioner. Avoid using hot water or rubbing the extensions vigorously, as this can cause damage. It is essential not to apply conditioner to where the extensions are attached to your hair as this can cause slipping and your extensions to fall out.
We always recommend that you FULLY dry your hair extensions, as the extra weight of extensions can cause tension in your hair when wet.
Follow your shampoo routine with the Beauty Works 10 in 1 leave-in conditioner to add moisture and shine to your hair.
Following these steps will help your extension hair last longer! ❤️
Swimming
We do not recommend you go swimming while wearing your extensions. However, we understand that this can’t always be avoided. Exposure to chlorinated water can cause damage to your hair extensions. It can also cause discoloration! No one wants Orange Hair!!! 😩
If you’re going to be swimming, tie your hair up in a loose ponytail and try to keep your hair out of the water.
If your hair extensions come into contact with chlorine, please wash your hair as soon as possible to remove the chlorine.
Chlorine and sunscreen are most likely to visually affect blonde hair extensions the most.
We also advise you to use mineral sunscreen while on holiday. These types of sunscreen are less likely to contain the ingredients Avobenzone and Ocrylene, which cause orange tones to appear in your extensions. Unfortunately, if this happens, it is nearly impossible to rectify.
Please check your sunscreen ingredients before your holiday! ☀️
Style With Heat As Little As Possible
We aren’t going to tell you not to style your gorgeous new hair; we’re just saying, little and not so often. Heat styling tools such as straighteners, curling irons, and hair dryers can cause damage to your hair extensions. If you need heat styling tools, use a heat protectant spray to minimise damage. Using low heat settings and avoiding applying heat directly to the bonds or clips is also a good idea.
There are so many ways to style your hair without heat. If you haven’t seen the heatless curls method already, using a sock or a dressing gown belt to wrap your hair around is a great method for effortless heatless curls—the perfect way to wake up flawless.
Be Careful When Exercising Or Swimming
Excessive sweating or exposure to chlorinated water can cause damage to your hair extensions. If you’re going to be exercising or swimming, tie your hair up in a loose ponytail or braid to prevent tangling.
After exercising or swimming, wash your extensions with a clarifying shampoo to remove any sweat or
chlorine.
